In 25 years’ time Santiago will celebrate its 500th
birthday. The city that has been the capital territory of Chile since colonial times has more reasons to make you travel to it than you can count. Whether it is the colonial styled historic buildings with the likes of the Palacio de La Moneda, the former Congress Building, or it is something like the San Christobal Hill, there is a lot that the city has to offer.
However, when you are there it is really a mission to select the best hotels to stay. I have compiled the top three hotels (in my view) from the Chilean capital. Here they are:
The Ritz-Carlton Santiago
Could there be a better place to stay in a city when you have a Ritz-Carlton (and the money needed to afford it, of course) Of course not. This beauty of a hotel has a glass enclosed roof top where you can enjoy state of the art spa, indoor pools and numerous other relaxing services. It is a five starred hotel with conference centers as big as 9000 square feet! And, they don’t plan on leaving anything out: the hotel has at least 365 different Chilean varieties of wines – one for every day of the year maybe?
Grand Hyatt Santiago
If you thought Ritz-Carlton could do the thing for you by eliminating all competition, think again. The Grand Hyatt Santiago is nothing less. On top of a long list of features would be the option to get a city, mountain or pool view from your bedroom. Then, they have poolside bars, outdoor pools, rooftop terraces, spa, sauna and much more. If you are close to the Ralli Museum or the ParqueArauco Mall, the hotel will be visible from far away due to its spiraling building – this part of the hotel is beautiful from the inside as well.
Radisson Plaza Santiago Hotel
I couldn’t help but include this one in the top three. The view that you get of the hotel at sunset is enough to make you want to stay there for a long time. Very well suited for the business class, it is situated in the heart of the city business center in Las Condes commune. That is not all; they have some of the most delicious dishes thatluxurious hotels have to offer. And all that comes with some of the most impressive staff members. However, the reason why it is there in the top hotels list is, to be honest, its location. It is so close to some of the best shopping malls in the region that you won’t really be spending much of your time in the room by yourself.
