holidays in hawaii

Hawaii has sometimes been referred to as Paradise on Earth and it was for a good reason that it had this nickname. One cannot oversee the natural beauty and fauna that the state/island has to offer. Situated in the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii became America’s 50th State and is one of the hottest tourist destinations in the whole world. With white sand and azure blue waters, the island is home to the warmest people. Hawaii is home to many small islands that form an archipelago, and here are some of the best holidays in Hawaii:

Some of the main islands of Hawai’i include Hawai’I, the Big Island, Maui; the Valley Isle, O’ahu; the gathering place, Kaua’I; the Garden Isle, Moloka’I; the friendly isle, Lana’I; the Pineapple Isle, Ni’ihaui; the Forbidden Isle and Kaho’olawe; the Target isle. Nicknames that have been passed over the years are now synonymous with these islands. Each major island has its own beauty and splendid tourism spots, and the most famous ones that are present are:

Pearl Harbour:

Easily one of the world’s most famous harbours owing to the film based on it, the Pearl Harbour is found on the island of Oahu in Hawai’i. Found in the west of Honolulu, much of the island is deep-water naval base. It is also home to the United States Pacific Fleet, the main operating sector in the whole of the Pacific Ocean for the United States. Pearl Harbour also has remnants from the Japanese bombings in the form of the USS Arizona Memorial where 1,102 of the 1,177 soldiers died during the Second World War for historians and tourists to visit. It is one of the most important places if one is going on holidays to Hawaii.

Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park:

Also found in Hawai’i is the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park that was founded in the year 1916. It contains the two biggest active volcanoes on the island, namely Kilauea and Mauna Loa, the world’s most massive sub-aerial volcano. The Park has a beautiful diversity of flora and was rewarded with a World Heritage Site in 1987 and an International Biosphere Reserve in 1980. Visitors can view volcanoes, some of which are actively dormant. Also found near the park are a few art centres, museums and historical places of importance that visitors can acquaint themselves with. One cannot go on holidays to Hawaii without visiting this important natural centre.

Hanauma Bay:

Found in the island of O’ahu, the Hanauma Bay is a marine embayment formed between a tuff ring. Due to overuse from being a very popular tourist spot, the Bay has suffered a bit that has taken a little sheen from its natural beauty. To accommodate cable wires from the island to the mainland of United States, dynamite was used to do so in the year 1956. Around 400 species of fish are known to inhabit the beautiful island. The island is known as home to Green Sea turtles, one of the largest inhabitant islands of the world for the endangered species. There was also a point known as the Toilet Bowl that has subsequently been closed due to injuries suffered by tourists.

Cook Landing Spot:

The Cook Landing spot in the island of Kaua’i is famous because it has the spot where one of the most celebrated captains of all time set his first foot. Captain James Cook landed on the mouth of the Waimea River in the year 1778. He has the distinction of being one of the first Europeans to have set sight on Hawai’i, and statue that has been constructed in memory of the historical event on the island and attracts a large number of tourists all over the world.
